Our 100% Moroccan Grade 1 saffron :
- Pure
- 100% organic
- Classified as Grade 1 Saffron under ISO 3632 standards
- Sustainably sourced straight from Moroccan co-ops
- Grown in Taliouine, southwest of Morocco.
Taliouine’s very dry climate produces a highly concentrated saffron with an intense aroma despite a less vivid colour than other saffron varieties such as the Spanish or Iranian saffrons.
Saffron is a versatile ingredient used in a variety of dishes, from savoury stews to desserts. Whether you’re preparing a tagine, a paella, or a saffron-infused custard, Moroccan saffron adds depth, complexity, and a touch of luxury to every bite.
A little goes a long way. A pinch of our organic Grade 1 saffron is all you need to take your dishes to the next level.
How to use our organic grade 1 saffron ?
🥘 In a paella
- Add directly the required amount of saffron threads straight into the stock. This will give saffron the time to infuse while you prepare the other ingredients.
🇮🇹 In a risotto
- An easy way to add saffron would be to add it to the risotto stock. This allows the saffron to infuse and melt easily into the stock liquid.
🇲🇦 In a tagine
- Boil a small quantity of water and mix the required quantity of saffron into the boiling oil (a pinch of saffron threads should suffice)
- Mix the water to allow the saffron to dissolve and add to the sides of the tagine. The saffron water will infuse the tagine and allow the ingredients not to stick to the bottom of the clay pot.
🥘 In saffron rice
- Grind the saffron quantity required by the recipe in a mortar to a powder like texture.
- Boil the required quantity of water and add it into the mortar (if it’s a smooth ceramic one). Otherwise, transfer the saffron powder into a bowl and pour the water in.
- Let it infuse for about 5 minutes for optimal flavour
Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
